Glastonbury Abbey was also destroyed during King Henry VIII's dissolution of the monasteries in England in 1539. The abbey was largely destroyed in the process and later

it has not yet regained its former glory.



Stonehenge, located 40 km from Glastonbury, is one of the most mysterious and impressive structures in history. This stone circle, estimated to have been built between 3000 and 2000 BC, has been the subject of many legends and theories throughout history. Stonehenge consists of large standing stones. These stones are approximately 4 meters high and weigh 25 tons. The most striking feature of the structure is the careful placement of the horizontal stones on the stones. How these stones were transported, erected and placed is still a mystery to scientists. There are various theories about the purpose of Stonehenge and how it was used. Some archaeologists suggest that it may have been used as a religious ceremony area, a cemetery or an astronomical observation center. The fact that the structure is associated with the movements of the sun suggests that it played an important role, especially during the summer and winter solstices. Stonehenge is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is visited by thousands of tourists every year. Research using modern technology has revealed previously unknown structures and sites beneath and around Stonehenge, adding a new dimension to studies aimed at understanding the structure's history and purpose.



Wells Cathedral is a famous Gothic cathedral located in Wells, Somerset, England. It is a 15-minute drive from Glastonbury. Construction began in the 12th century and was completed in several stages between the 10th and 15th centuries and is considered one of the most important medieval structures in England.

The cathedral is one of the earliest examples of Gothic architecture in England and is particularly famous for its façade decorations.



Bishop's Palace Garden, located in Wells, covers an area of 14 acres and consists of various gardens that offer different beauty in each season. The garden includes ponds, old ramparts, a historic bishopric garden, flower beds, vegetable gardens and various statues. The statues in the garden are also one of the elements that attract the most attention of visitors.
