Located in the west of Sri Lanka, Colombo is the country's capital and most important trade center. Colombo has a rich colonial heritage, and in addition to a quiet and peaceful life, it also has a vibrant nightlife. The city is influenced by Arabs, Portuguese, Dutch and British. We toured the entire city with Colombo Bay Tuk Tuk City Tours. Our guide introduced us to every place in detail. We were very pleased.

The main city center and business district is known as Fort and is home to many government buildings, luxury shopping malls and large hotels. The area takes its name from the fort left by the Portuguese. Just in front of the Fort is Galle Face Green, a large ocean park.

Gangaramaya Temple is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Colombo. It is a unique temple with a blend of Sri Lankan, Indian, Thai and Chinese architecture. Moreover, this temple is not only a place of worship but also a sanctuary for cultural preservation. Also, you can find old artifacts, rare coins and statues in the museum located in this temple. One of the most interesting parts of the temple is the stepped wall that contains many Buddha statues. Before entering the temple, you need to cover your shoulders and knees, take off your hat and shoes. You can put your shoes in the boxes at the entrance of the temple. Also, you are not allowed to enter the temple with your backpack. However, you can put your backpack in the lockers at the entrance.

Seema Malaka is a Buddhist temple. The temple is used for meditation and rest rather than worship. Located on Beira Lake, the temple was originally built in the late 19th century. Seema Malaka is part of the Gangaramaya Temple.

Independence Square (formerly Torrington Square) is known as one of the most important places in Colombo because it was here that the protests for independence from the British began. Today, important national celebrations and cultural events are held here.

Pettah Floating Market is a market place with its minimalist decor located in the calm and pristine waters of the lake. The walking area is made up of dark woods. The market area on the water is one-way, but it has become quite crowded with the participation of tourists.
